    Love and Hope

    The way you cry,
    If only you could see,
    Everything I feel.
    The ocean cannot surpass
    All that you are.
    Your soul is pure,
    Your lips are timid,
    But that is why,
    Why I love you.
All this leads to is yearning,
    Wanting,
    And yet,
You cannot see all the hope I have,
    For us to be together.

    She's the one

    She sang to me
Grabbed my mind with mere words
    She hugged me
Warming my body inside and out
She looked at me in my eyes
Taking my soul on an adventure like no other
    She danced with me
Taking my body on an endless flight
    She loved me
    Making my heart bounce
    She's the one
    I just know it
    She's the one

    One Reason:

Sometimes I wish a black hole could
swallow me whole and take me from this planet
It's not that I hate it,
I just no longer enjoy it like when I was younger
when everyone cared about each other,
and I was never left with
    my worst fears

Their are millions of galaxies out there
and I was chosen to be stuck on this one
My dreams have dissipated into the
    thick air that surrounds me
    But then it occurred to me;
I was chosen to be here because of one reason,
    and one reason only,
    You

    Uncureable:

So many of us live in the depths of despair
where we are left in a corner with our deadly emotions
threatening to take our life away
and our heart are left in unbreakable jars on shelves

Some of us are named tigers who earned our stripes,
while others hide themselves under blankets of words
that hide the truth that they can't seem to handle

In the daytime, we act as if everything is perfect
and when it finally becomes dark, we become
lost in our miserable thoughts while
our bodies shake uncontrollably and we
    completely shut down,
    our eyes leaking out oceans

The thing that we all share is what
caused us to become such messes up people

That 'thing' caused us to rip ourselves
to shreds to keep everyone else whole

    That thing, is called society

    Anne
Your unflinching smile brings one to myself
Your unfailing optimism makes me want to sleep another night
If only I’d looked into your beautiful eyes
Showed you how much I loved you
Maybe I wouldn’t have to marvel at your grace
    Years after it had faded
    Unless it never dissipated
Your life lives on in your writings
    Finding humor in uncertain salvation
Your beautiful mother and constituted daughter
    Were they like you?
All these years, I’d thought the Secret Annex was nothing more than a place
    A cramped, gloomy basement
The gallows preceding a fatal shock
If only I had seen into your soul
    As you saw into mine
I could have found joy and happiness
In the least joyful and gloomiest of days
    Edith
    Margot
    Anne
    I love you

    Insanity
There is no way to control it.
    It is free.
    The madness within lurking,
    Remaining while the danger passes,
    As the Cheshire Cat smiles,
    Smiles its way home.
The mad realize how the world really is,
    They see through the "beauty,"
    The cover for the actions,
    The actions of oneself.
They break down the barriers and realize,
They realize life is no longer worth living,
    With this beast,
    Fate is ready,
    Ready to take you away.
    -The madness within me

    -Alone with Company-
One evening, as I flickered between sleep and the drowsy, self-aware fog that pervades your spirit and dulls your senses, I suddenly felt a presence. With a previously impossible alertness I studied the aisles of my shop, glancing from lane to lane of novels and trinkets. No one stood in the vicinity nor in the shop at all and yet still the idea of another being accosted my mind. Upon an unnatural instinct, I tilted my head so the storefront was visible. There, behind the glass, stood a figure of some height and snow-like pallor. The persons legs were graceful and elegantly sculpted with a generously curved rear that was pleasing. Pleasing and familiar. Traveling up this person's frame with a new vigor to understand but equally hesitant fear gifted me with a striking conclusion of rigid addiction. At this point, my mind had left all bodily control to the forces of the universe, sacrificing all energies to the observation and scrutiny of this strange goddess. Somewhere, deep below the structure of my life I could hear whispers of her existence. I had known her but who was she? With an effort of such determination that I can hardly expect to ever feel so desperate and desirous again, I gazed at her face. The eyes were first noticed. Staring unflinchingly back at me, they drew any ounce of control from my heart and replaced it with a hollow, alien helplessness. For the eyes, oh the eyes. They were as definite as the acceptance of life itself. Not a detail could escape them, this I knew, but it was not emotions given that radiated such bear power and yes, power is what I felt. As I stared, throbbing waves of electric like sensations pulsed through me, enveloping everything in a deep, dark slumber, tunneling my vision to the roots of the black sun-like flower. But no. These emotions were just the first step on the mahogany staircase. The key to my mind was hidden in here irises, this I also knew. Somewhere, in the back of my pinning soul, a wintry breeze blew through. Its overall effect was unacknowledged but its appearance was not. And there, on that lonesome but euphoric night, said chilly draft asked-
    "Where are they?"
Her face was but a moon colored oval and her eyes, well her eyes were non-existent.

This is a short story I wrote, part one of seven. I titled the entire piece 'Seven Deadly Sins'. I started with Greed. Any opinions? Oh, and a question. Please, what gender did you think that the main character was? Male or female? I don't mean to be offensive or anything, just curious.

I smirked at the pleading, sniveling man in front of me. He was another one of the petty peasants to bow before me, begging for money. They all had the same pathetic reasons- sickness, death, debt, food, family, the list went on and on. Day after day, they came, one by one. All requesting some of my money. As if I would share my riches with them. It was mine and nobody else’s. Once in a while, a person would come to implore that I lower the taxes. I would, of course, order the guards to through them in the dungeons with the rest of the idiots who had the same nerve. After, I would raise the payment even more. They would eventually learn their lesson, these poor, worthless souls. The money belonged to me. They weren't any of my concern. I snapped my fingers at my guard, pointing at the man whose eyes widened in horror. He knew that signal, that the guards would throw him out of my rich palace and eventually pillage his own house for anything of value. That was the punishment for anyone who dared to come after my gold. I slipped off of my thrown, which was made of the finest metals and jewels. I ordered one of the guards to carry me to my room, which was also lavishly decorated with the finest that money could buy. I laid down on my silk sheets. Tomorrow, I was to go around the town, entering the poor people’s houses to see if there was anything I could take. I allowed my eyes to flutter close, almost smiling in anticipation of all the money that would await me. The next morning, I dressed finely in a satin dress, decorating my head, arms, and neck with gold and diamonds. I commanded my guards to protect the palace, and not to permit anyone to take anything I strolled down the streets, wrinkling my nose at the filthy houses and people. I had already looted everything from this section. I walked further past them to a river with a bridge. Crossing it would lead me to more houses with the possibility of more money. As I was halfway across the bridge, a glint caught my eye. Something shiny was reflecting the light. That meant money. I dived into the water, not taking off anything. It was all mine, I wouldn't let go of it. I pushed myself downward, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't reach it. I swan for what felt like hours, but I still didn't get it. I was so close, it was right in my grasp, but when I did get to it, it disappeared. I looked around in surprise. It was like it was never there. I felt myself getting dizzy. I needed air. But as I attempted to swim up, something was holding me back. It was like I couldn't move, suspended in place. Mt chest and my head seemed to weight me down, feeling heavier. It was all of the jewelry I had on. I ignored it, continuing to move my self up. It didn't work. The only option I had was to take all of it off and then swim, but I couldn't do that. I wouldn’t. It was mine, all mine, and I refused to let go of it. Eventually, my arms got tired. I couldn't move, even if I changed my mind. The last thing I saw as I sunk further into the depths of the river was the light of the sun, glittering like gold.

Here is a poem I wrote about the Holocaust but before you read you should know what the Hakenkreuz is. It is essentially what you think of when you hear the word swastika, but a swastika is an ancient symbol of good luck, while the Hakenkreuz or "hooked cross' is tilted to the side.

    Memories
    So many lost souls,
Extinguished by the mortiferous machinations of one man.
Taken at the onset of a red tide,
    Slain in our homes,
    some missed the train,
a death not quite in vain.

    We can see your eyes,
Unburnt by the pyre of our brothers,
    Your hair that shone,
Untouched by the ashes of the old and the young.
Smiles like beacons of naïve gaiety,
    Untarnished by terror or misery
    Your hearts,
Untainted by absolute anguish and agony.
    Souls light and free,
    Unburdened by genocide or torment.

    We will remember you all,
    Crushed by black boots,
    Smothered by Sieg Heils.
    Consumed by the red tide,
    By the delusions of one,
    Mercilessly massacred or mutilated,
    Starved like beasts in cages,
    Droves in the millions,
Coming to embrace their heavenly father,
    who wore the Hakenkreuz.

    Scream

    You hear it now,
    You'll hear it later.
    It rips through your soul
    Mercilessly, it hurts you.
And all you can do is add on
To the growing crescendo of pain.
    You think you're immune.
    You're wrong.
It savagely attacks you when you least expect it,
    It rips everything from you.
    And for what reason?
    It feeds on pain,
And what do you think I feel everyday?
Making it grow stronger and stronger,
    Without ceasing.
    The pain forever grows stronger,
The pain of rejection hurts most of all,
    The pain of betrayal follows.
How do I live through it all?
    I don't.
    I die inside every day,
Slowly counting down to the day my body rots,
    After death,
To meet my soul in the emptiness of loneliness,
    Of sorrow,
    Of pain.

    Love; Outlawed

    Welcome to Wild West,
    Rangers on a hairpin trigger.
    Strict statues in the holster,
    empowered egos getting bigger.
    A criminal comment;
    "love can't be banned",
    these lonely rangers say;
"its the law of the land.
They take me to the edge of town,
and push me away with a malicious grin.
i take the path that no man walks,
just to see my love again.
A criminal hidden by a cowl,
a cautious step into the town.
to avoid the rangers cautious eyes,
to the saloon make my way down.
Bust into the bar a stranger,
    eyebrows raised and slightly bent.
meet eyes with the one i seek,
as her face lights up with merriment.
Then the sheriff bursts in the saloon,
a presence that could end a riot.
his beady black eyes locked with mine,
as the bar grew deadly quiet.
"you know the rules" he roared "love is outlawed
do you take me for a fool?"
i smirked "ill challenge that law of yours
if i can beat you in a duel."
he said "ill have you know son,
I've seen crooks come and go.
ill humor that little challenge of yours
and send you crying, just for show!"
we filed our way out the bar,
as spectators gathered with a watchful eye.
we took ten paces and stopped there silent,
as vultures circled the midday sky.
    A clutch in the gravel,
    we turned bout face.
    i grabbed my golden six,
    from out of its place.
    flips it twice round,
    as fast as a run.
    and put one golden bullet,
up the barrel of his gun.
holstered my six as his flew a good yard,
then he fell down on his knees in tears.
then the dusty quiet saloon broke out,
roaring with praised laughter and cheers.
    i spied my love,
    who blew me a kiss.
    that sheriff didn't know,
    that i could never miss.
    I walked to his defeat,
    as my form stood above.
    i told him one truth;
    "you cant outlaw love."

    masks of plastic
    made with dead eyes
    all we wish
    simply more lies
    their are good people
    people who care
    people who think
    and have things to share
    but they live among
    the empty and copied
it is a disease that spreads
    and has no cure
    what can be said
    what can be done
    it is hopeless to solve
if the infected are the aware

    Give her a feather, she's a parakeet
Some underworld spy or the wife of a husband
I got Indian blood and I fight with Cher
Because the night belongs to wives
    Stunk inside these four walls
    Frankenstein forever
Could I be a man in motion

    See

    none of you will understand
what I see through my eyes
    eyes of clean glass
only to be painted by illusions
    illusions of fake hate
    fake laughter
and while everyone wonders why I cry
I just know that they will never see
that bloody hell dripping down there faces
and everyday laughter drugs my eyes even more
until my sight becomes foggy with tears
    none will see
    I make them try,
but they cry only of problems with hope leading to a solution
there is no solution to the illusions in my eyes
    make them stop
stop them from testing my surroundings
and though I scream this to my loved ones
I know that they will never
    ever
    forever
    see what I see...

    lacuna.

    a sit back
    and i think,
    will i swim,
    will i sink.
    an adult bombardment,
gives me no time to think.
will i be- the same kid,
will my mind- have got rid,
    of this lyrical nonsense
    and things that i did.
    the past can be helpful,
    but people are scared,
    of being truly honest,
    and im not even dared,
    by my friends,
    nor my love,
    not my teachers.
    none of the above.
    the things that bother me,
are there, but hard to see.
    the struggle of others,
    the blind contraversy.
    they say that they try,
    sit alone and they cry,
    yet with all the complaints,
    they give no reason why.
    the pessemistic majority,
    and the lack of priority,
    hiding themselves,
    under fear of authority.
    yet its still not clear,
    why they interfere,
    with the rot they share,
    its no longer clear.
    and they dont understand,
    when we offer a hand.
    because they dont want help,
    its attention they demand.

    A poem
    You walked into the party
Like you were walking into a yacht
Your head strategically dipped below one eye
    You scarpered with Africans
You had one eye in the mirror as
    You watched yourself cavort.

I know why the caged bird sings by Maya Angelou
A free bird leaps on the back
Of the wind and floats downstream
Till the current ends and dips his wing
    In the orange suns rays
And dares to claim the sky.

But a BIRD that stalks down his narrow cage
Can seldom see through his bars of rage
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
Of things unknown but longed for still
And his tune is heard on the distant hill for
The caged bird sings of freedom.

The free bird thinks of another breeze
And the trade winds soft through
    The sighing trees
And the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright
Lawn and he names the sky his own.

But a caged BIRD stands on the grave of dreams
His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.

    The caged bird sings with
A fearful trill of things unknown
But longed for still and his
Tune is heard on the distant hill
For the caged bird sings of freedom.

    Soccer Ball

    Why?
    I follow all the rules
I'm not one of the tools
    I stay quiet and still
    I relax and chill
So why, why do I have to be beaten?
    I'm kicked, I'm slapped
    I'm tortured and trapped
And all I do is follow the rules.

    Eulogy:
I had friends -like any of yours
and what things we did together.
United by circumstance and common escape plans.
We met together, to play cops and criminals.
Hide and seek, from the bullies.
    And this was our relationship.
These were people and nothing less.
    We lived the same winters
    as all else
    yet
    the face of the blizzard
    that scowled upon us
wore a swastika and a heil.
    There came one day
    when I stayed home sick.
    I left my friends
    for but a second.
    That day at school
    They handed out our punishments.
    I, well I was freed.
They paid my debt for me.

    Society

    Cowering in corners
like a dog in a cage
    Beaten and broken
    by undeserved rage
    Bloodied and bruised
    in bathroom stalls
    Fearing each step
    inside of school walls
    Beaten at home
    by father and mother
    Deals with the pain
    by torturing others
    Weak at home
    powerful at school
    Bullies the younger
So they feel your pain too
    Whispering girls
    rumors are spread
    Self hatred grows
    you wish you were dead
    Insults are flying
    there's nothing to do
    Until you get home
and take the pain out on you
    Popular girls
    get lots of guys
    Not all of it wanted
and now they want to die
    So insecure
    because they were used
Takes it out on the shy
    through verbal abuse
    This is the society
    that teens face everyday
    We dream of utopia
but we don't change our ways
    What kind of a wold
should a kid not feel safe?
    At home or at school?
    Or out on a date?
    Through abuse and self harm
    we take out our pain
    No one gets help
    so fear continues to reign
    If we open our eyes
    and hold out our hands
We'll put an end to this terror
    I know that we can
If we learn to love one another
The hardship would be worth it
    Because united as one
    Our Society Would Be Perfect

Someone once told me to always
    live for the little things
    in life.
Live for 5 am sunrises and 5 pm sunsets
where you'll see colors in the sky that
    don't usually belong.
Live for road trips and bike rides
with music in your ears and
    the wind in your hair.
Live for days when you're surrounded
by your favorite people who make you realize
that the world is not a
    cold, harsh place.
Live for the little things because
they will make you realize that
this is what life is about,
this is what it means to be
    alive.

    t's been quite a while,
Since I've laid it all out,
    Like a big ol blueprint,
    With my schemes all throughout.
    Sometimes it goes well,
Never has been a dull day.
    At least it's interesting,
Even if it doesn't go my way.
    People are so unorthodox
The mind is never set in stone.
    But unpredictable reactions,
    Can only set the tone.
    Perhaps I'm getting Bored.
    It's been a long year.
But right now is not the time,
    For me to be clear.
    Ill keep things interesting,
    While Playing this game.
    String em like puppets,
    Name after name.
    But something evades me.
    It's out of my mind.
    A strange phenomenon,
    Beyond my design.
    It's not something bad,
And it keeps me at bay.
    From being like this,
    Saying things I shouldn't say.
    And it's more than wonderful.
    Beyond satisfaction,
    More desirable,
    Than people's reactions.
But that comes with a code.
    A responsibility of sorts.
    Preservation of its glory,
    If it takes last resorts.
    I should be upfront.
    But nows not the time.
    But when I'm fully honest.
    It won't be a rhyme.

    A Confession

    I go by many names,
    Others have given to me,
But how I earned this reputation,
    I cannot see.
    Walking encyclopedia,
    The living thesaurus,
    An all knowing dictionary,
    Just to name a few.
    Along with these titles,
I am counted among the wise,
    Begging as I may,
To be cut down to size.
    Indeed I am flattered,
    Yet I disagree,
Seeing myself as fickle or frivolous,
    Not sage or assertive.
    Is it my vocabulary?
    Or every grade an A?
Perhaps I shall never know in all my days.
    Now,
To boast is not my purpose,
    But to express my confusion,
Over which I see as a delusion.
For what you see in me,
    Is not what I believe.
    Maybe I am blind,
Peering through the veil of self-doubt,
My view tarnished by the villainy of cynicism.
    However,
I realize that to discover the truth,
    Be it fell or freeing,
    I mustn’t look within,
    But about me.

    -Laughing with Moonlight Madness-
    la,la la la la la
    watching the flower grow
na, na na na na na
    drunk on dreams ho ho
    don't look at the screen
    a nightmare it brings
    turn around
    time to shout
not awake but not in bed
    no genius
    he's long dead
it rains and the tears glisten
    no surprise
    their reflections listened
    a doorway to heaven
    to the starry dynamo
    just don't leave my friends
    hell without them
    a beautiful person
    loyal and stricken
    not yet gone
    thank the god's
I see the depths of humanity
    imaging madness's rediscovery
    but the angel has wings
    a tool now obligatory
    hair cascading
    intelligence multiplying
    hope lighting
confusing with a note of sophistication
    and forever alluring
    how funny
the drug of midnight more than potent
    but not befuddling
    the mind is still active
    as are the hands
    stating the obvious
    more necessary than the complicated
    so nice
    so nice
    drama and stupidity
    that's me
    how utterly frustrating
    a girl so precious
held at bay by the author
    for what reason
    my awareness of the following
    she's the beauty
    I tamed the beast
    she's silent
    and I'm wary
how many hugs produce fictive feelings?
and how many does she desire
    uncertainty
    not of affection through me
but of the things she sees
